This week, we have block schedule because of CAASP testing. During the period, Connor, Erin, Keilah and I gor permission to start working on the revamped wood storage solution for the shop. We decided to completely remake not only the wood storage area, but the storage for the PVC, cardboard mailing tubes, and smaller aluminum and steel scraps. Instead of making a separate cart for the wood, we decided to integrate the wood storage into a design that was similar to the existing storage for the other materials. The design was largelty based on the design of a rolling cart for woodworking lumber storage.
Today was the block schedule for periods 2, 4, and 6, so I didn't do anything.
Today we worked on the cad for the material storage area. the storage units were made of 2 parts: one that strongly resembled the frame that already exists, but incorporates a place for storing sheet goods, and a fruit basket-like sectioned off area where we would put toolboxes, rods, and smaller miscellaneous metal pieces. I didn't finish the Shetchup in class, so I ended up refining the design at home.

Today we didn't really get much done because the version of the sketchup that I had put on my Google Drive had been saved in 2017, and was thus not able to be opened with the version of Shetchup that was on the school laptops. As a result, we just started preparing materials for when we would eventiually start building the storage units. Right after the bell rang, a bird flew into the classroom, and Connor caught it and sent it outside. However, the bird flew into a meter ccontainer, so I picked it up. The bird was injured, with blood over its left eye, and when I released it into the potted plants near Dr. Neato's truck, it made its way into the air compressor enclosure.
